In today’s digital scenario, incentivizing learning has become one of the foremost challenges for organizations in the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector. Applying game-based learning within a classroom setting has proved to be a viable solution. Games not only help to leverage the workforce’s competitive nature, but also helps to boost their overall engagement and knowledge retention levels. The new-age learner finds instructor-led approach quite boring because of the lengthy training sessions. Therefore, games are introduced in workplace training to increase teamwork, coordination and overall learning efficiency.
G-Cube imparted an effective gamified solution for its esteemed BFSI client. The primary challenge for the client was lack of engagement and motivation among the learners during classroom training. As a solution, we offered a highly engaging game-based instructor-led training solution to align with their pertinent needs. Different gaming elements that were incorporated are outlined here:
- An objective was set at each level to develop some sense of competition among different teams. As a result, gamified learning approach within a classroom setting motivated the players to access more courses and improve their overall knowledge competency.
- Gaming elements such as Scores, Leaderboards, Characters, Avatars, Quizzes, Buzzers and more were included within the program to enhance learner interaction, collaboration and knowledge retention.
- Static and Random themes were also embedded to boost learner’s capability to win the game. This helps to monitor the team of players who reach the milestone first, earn badges or scores and then go to the next level.
- The UI of the game was designed in a way that learners could view their individual team scores. If they are low on scores, players can motivate each other to learn more efficiently and perform better.
Overall, the gamified solution for this BFSI client helped to cater to the training needs of new hires. They adopted this approach as a part of their Induction program which reinforced the learning experience. The entire program also proved to be an efficient tool during the Change Management process where managers had to deal with specific challenges such as the resistance to change in company’s policies. The perfect blend of theme-based and game-based learning during the classroom sessions helped to smoothen the transition process at the workplace. So, with the widespread adoption of innovative technology, the need to deliver effective learning has also evolved. So, game-based learning is heralded as most popular way to retain employees, fulfill diverse business objectives and make learning complete fun.
